Mr. Cuddles was born to Tiefling parents who part of a group of slaves in the Underdark domain of the Drow, in the Vesparil Mountains. When he was born, his parents were shocked to see he had more cat-like features than demonic features. His skin was covered in fur, his horns were missing, his tail was rounded instead of barbed and he had a cat-like face.
When Mr. Cuddles turned 5, the dwarves came down from the surface and waged a war against the Drow. They eventually won, but Mr. Cuddles parents were killed during the assault. A dwarf paladin found Mr. Cuddles cowering in his hovel. The dwarf returned to the surface with him and turned him over to the orphanage. The other children shunned him, but he didn’t care. He knew he was destined for greatness.
One day, Mr. Cuddles was noticed by a noble woman. She was entranced with him. She adopted him and took him home and began to take care of him like a treasured pet, changing his name to Mr. Cuddles and keeping him near her at all times.
He eventually discovered this noble woman was actually the head of a thieves guild in the town of Hargmoore. When he got older she bagan to teach the ways of the thief. She eventually took him to the market and had him do a con on a tradesman and bilked him out of several hundred gold pieces. He was hooked. He could take his revenge on all those who shunned him and live in luxury? It was a win-win.
Unfortunately, there was an eventual power struggle between the guilds and the drawves and the thieves guild was taken down and his keeper was a casualty of that war. Since then, Mr. Cuddles has made his living scrounging on the streets. But, he knows he’ll regain his fortune. It will just take paitience.
